On September 25 and 26, 2023, the Foundry Colloquium took place in Clausthal in beautiful weather and summer temperatures. The event gathered experts, scientists and industry representatives from the foundry sector to discuss the latest developments, trends and challenges in this field.
A special highlight of the Foundry Colloquium was the celebration of Professor Döpp's 90th birthday. With great joy and gratitude, the participants honored the outstanding scientist and person who has helped shape foundry research over decades. With an organ concert and many exhilarating anecdotes at the Foundry Evening, his birthday became a touching moment of solidarity and exchange between generations in foundry technology.
The presentations at the colloquium were divided into various main topics, including "New manufacturing processes", "Increasing efficiency in foundry production" and "Sustainability in the foundry industry". Research results were presented in the individual lectures, which were received with great interest by the participants and used as an opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities that await the foundry industry in the coming years.
